加拿大家庭护理英语

ginger ale:姜麦酒

iced water:冰水

supper:晚餐

a la carte:按菜牌点菜

hors d'ouvre:开胃菜,正餐前的小吃

salad:沙拉

vegetable soup:蔬菜汤

prawn:班节暇

beef steak:牛排

meat ball:肉丸

sausage:香肠

pepper:胡椒粉

pickles:酸泡菜

knife and fork:刀叉

plate:盘,平底碟

asparagus:芦笋

potato:马铃薯

onion:葱

cabbage:包菜,卷心菜

spinach:菠菜

bamboo shoot:笋

carrot:胡葡萄

a glutton:贪吃者

in season now:正在季节(=正是时菜)

out Of season now:已过季节(=不是时菜)

to wash down with wine:喝着酒而吃下

to make one's mouthwater:使人流涎(=见到好菜而口中生津)

to eat like a bird:吃得像鸟(=食量很少)

to nibble at the food:一点一点的吃

the pleasures of the table:饮与食

fried rice with egg and shrimp:虾仁蛋炒饭

minced beef with rice:免治牛肉饭

a gourmet:美食家,讲究吃的人

to go on a light diet:在实行定量的节食

to have a couple of bottles of beer:喝一两瓶啤酒

to have a bath attached to the room:浴室连着卧室

to have a wash and rest awhile:洗个澡并休息一会儿
